Integrated Academic Training Programme
Bone & Joint Health provide the academic teaching for all academic foundation year doctors affiliated with QMUL. Attendance to these sessions is compulsory and forms part of your academic training. We are well aware that classroom sessions and being spoken at can be tedious! So we have devised a programme that will hopefully provide you with a mix of learning opportunities including lectures, workshops, guest speakers and the opportunity to present and problem solve your own research.
The programme will be held on Tuesday 12:30 – 13:30 on Week 1, 2 and 3 within each month. The programme begins on Tuesday 5th September 12:30 – 13:30 and monthly timeline below:
- Week 1: Taught knowledge from programme
- Week 2: Hearing from invited speakers
- Week 3: Presenting ongoing research progress OR Sharing new ideas for research (via a Dragons Den format)
- Week 4: No meeting
- Week 5: No meeting
Please note content is broad – not specific to bone and joint health.
In addition to academic foundation year doctors, wider members of the Bone & Joint Health group attend the sessions. This is a great opportunity to meet others in clinical academic roles, share ideas and to provide support to one another. We are open to your feedback and will send a survey out after the first 8 weeks. If in the mean time you have any ideas of what you would like covered or what you would find beneficial please do get in touch boneandjointhealth@qmul.ac.uk
Sessions will held in Room 1.21, 1st Floor, Abernethy building, within the Blizard Institute, 4 Newark Street, E1 2AT. We will also be streaming via Zoom so you can participate remotely. Zoom link for all sessions below:
