    Daniela is a medical doctor with a specialist qualification in Rheumatology (CCST equivalent) and has recently joined the ReGen group as Research Fellow. Her project is part of the Barts Biomedical Research Centre Musculoskeletal theme, Osteoarthritis subtheme. It aims at identifying progression biomarkers and disease subsets of osteoarthritis to help bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and clinical practice, in the pursuit of advancing medical knowledge and transforming patient care.

    Graduating from medical school in 2017, Daniela pursued knowledge and innovation. Through her work as a Rheumatology trainee in Italy, she gained extensive experience and expertise in the care of patients with rheumatic diseases, both in inpatient and outpatient settings.

    As a trainee, she engaged in academic activities and scientific research, enjoyed giving lectures to medical students and presented her work at the Italian Society of Rheumatology congress. She contributed to several publications in international journals, including as first author. As part of her academic development, she joined the ReGen group as a visiting academic for 5 months earning an authorship in a seminal paper published on the prestigious EMBO Molecular Medicine.

    Daniela is deeply committed to addressing the societal impact of osteoarthritis. Through her work, she aims to translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions that can improve the lives of those affected by this condition.
